PURPOSE:To prevent a secrecy leakage, by successively fusing the ribbon taken up by a fusing roller equipped with a heat generating means. CONSTITUTION:The leading end of a printing head 3 is pressed to the printing paper 2 on a platen 1 through a printing ribbon 4a. At this time, a printing mark clearly appears in the side of the printing ribbon 4a but the ribbon 4b after printing is successively fed by ribbon feed rollers 5a, 5b to be taken up by a ribbon take-up pulley 8 through a fusing roller 7b. A heat generating means is provided to the fusing roller 7b and the ink remaining on the printing ribbon 7b or a part of the base material of the ribbon 4b is melted by said heat generating means to fuse the printing ribbon 4b onto the ribbon 4c already wound around the pullely 8. Therefore, the ribbon 4b after printing can not easily be peeled off from the ribbon 4c already taken-up.
