High-temperature heat exchanger of large dimensions

A high-temperature heat exchanger of large dimensions, whose heat-exchanging surfaces and/or bases consist of high-temperature-resistant materials, for example of ceramic, silicon carbide, is characterised in that at least one base is designed in a domed manner. The base is domed inwards or outwards, depending on the direction of the forces acting. A domed base of large diameter is advantageously split into a plurality of segments which are in each case provided with tongue and groove, it being possible to fill the separating joints with a fire-resistant cement. High heat exchangers are equipped with at least one domed intermediate base. In consequence, heat-exchanger tubes, for example, are not excessively long and dangerous oscillations are thus avoided.
