A linkage for an agricultural appliance, for example a furrow press, engaging into the tillable soil is provided, having a mounting arrangement which can be attached to the front side of a tractor (1) used for agricultural operation and which can be pivoted between a raised transport position for the appliance and two operating positions for the appliance, each engaging into the tillable soil on one side of the tractor, one of the operating positions being shown in Figure 4. The pivoting movement is achieved by means of a hydraulic cylinder (6) acting on a pivoting arm (5). The lateral positioning of the appliance is achieved in synchronism with the pivoting movement, specifically by means of a chain drive (16) between a chainwheel (14) fixed on the shaft of the pivoting arm (5) and a chainwheel (15) attached fixedly to a pivoting supporting device (8) at the end of this pivoting arm. <IMAGE>
