PURPOSE:To enhance color forming capacity and storage stability and to enable high speed recording, by containing a beta-diketone compound in the thermal recording layer of a thermal recording material using a colorless or light-colored basic dye and an organometal compound capable of forming color upon the contact with said dye. CONSTITUTION:A beta-diketone compound represented by formula [III] (wherein R4 and R5 are a substituted or non-substituted alkyl group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group) is contained in the thermal recording layer of a thermal recording material using a coloress or light-colored basic dye and an organometal compound represented by formula [I] [wherein R1 is a substituted or non-substituted alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an unsaturated group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group, M is a polyvalent metal, X is a halogen atom and (n) is an integer of 1-4] or [II] (wherein Me is a polyvalent metal ion and R2 and R3 are respectively a 5- or 6-membered aromatic heterocyclic ring containing a hetero-atom). |
