PURPOSE:To shorten a printing time when papers having different thicknesses are set simultaneously, by fixing a plurality of flexible shims drawn out from the end of a frame along the running surfaces of a bearings holding a guide therebetween at the arbitrary position of a printing range. CONSTITUTION:A carrier 2 is engaged with a guide shaft 3 at the front part thereof in a freely rotatable manner and mounted at the rear part thereof so that a bearing 5 and a bearing 6 suspended by a spring hold a guide bar 4 therebetween and the bearing 5 moves up and down according to the unevenness of the running surface thereof and, as a result, the carrier 2 rotates around a guide shaft 3 and the gap between a printing hammer 1 and a platen 7 becomes wide and narrow. When thick printing paper 11 is mounted on the left half of the apparatus and thin printing paper 12 is mounted on the right half thereof, a strip like shim 8 is drawn out from the right end of the apparatus along the running surface of a bar 4 and, when fixed in such a state that the hook 9 thereof is hooked with a pin 10, the gap becomes narrow in a range where the shim 8 is present and changes to the gap suitable for the thin printing paper 12. |
