PURPOSE:To judge a flame speedily and securely by providing a photodetection part which has plural picture elements at focuses of a couple of light converging means for converging light power from the entire monitor area. CONSTITUTION:Both CCD sensors 1 and 2 receive clock pulses at every specific period from a CCD driving circuit 8 and output analog signals corresponding to accumulated charges of photodetecting picture elements. Then, A/D converters 9a and 9b provided corresponding to the CCD sensors 1 and 2 convert corresponding photodetection signals into digital data, which are supplied to a multiplexer 10. A memory 12a is stored with reference data and photodetection data obtained in real time is written in a memory 12a all the time. A background processing circuit 11 finds the difference between the reference data stored in the memory 12a and actually obtained photodetection data. The output of the background processing circuit 11 is supplied to a buffer memory 14a or 14b through a gate circuit 13 and the output of the buffer memory is inputted to an arithmetic processing part 16 through a gate circuit 15, so that its arithmetic result is displayed 17.
