PURPOSE:To prevent the body of an operator from being caught in between a paper receiving table and a floor face by providing a control part for stopping the moving action of a supporting mechanism based on the detected output of a detector, in the captioned device for a line printer device, etc. CONSTITUTION:When a paper receiving table 10 is drawn out of a supporting mechanism 11 in order to take out a continuous sheet of paper 8 from the top of the paper receiving table 10, a detector 14 detects this and inputs a detected output indicating that the paper receiving table 10 is drawn out into a control part 13. Accordingly, even if a direction of operation to move the supporting mechanism 11 upward or downward is inputted into the control part 13 in this condition, the control part 13 does not issue a moving direction to a reciprocating mechanism 12, holding the supporting mechanism 11 in a stopped condition. Also, even when the control part 13 has already issued a moving direction to move the supporting mechanism 11 upward or downward to the reciprocating mechanism 12, if a detected output from the detector 14 is inputted in it, the control part 13 immediately cancels the moving direction to the reciprocating mechanism 12, and holds the supporting mechanism in the stopped condition.
