PURPOSE:To increase molding ability and electrochemical characteristics of a positive electrode for a zinc-halogen battery by heat-pressing an activated carbon fiber sheet originated in coal pitch against the surface of a conductive electrode substrate to bond them. CONSTITUTION:A sheet made of activated carbon fibers originated in coal pitch is manufactured by bonding fibers made by special processing with a binder. The sheet is heat-bonded on the surface of a conductive electrode substrate made of carbon plastic or the like to form an electrode used for a positive electrode of a zinc-halogen battery. By forming the sheet having high bonding strength, bonding to the substrate is easy, and by using the amorphous raw material, an activation process is easily advanced. Therefore, moldability, molding workability, and electrochemical characteristics are increased, and a cost is reduced. |
