PURPOSE:To make the diameter of a serrated hole larger to obtain an excellent durability of a steering wheel and a micro-adjustability therefore, by providing a boss and a cover which are formed therein with a tapered hole and a serrated hole, respectively, that are adapted to be fitted onto the tapered section and serrated section of a steering shaft, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A steering wheel is fitted on a steering shaft 21 having a tapered section 21a and a serrated section 21b. In this arrangement, there is provided a metal boss 16 formed therein with a tapered hole 23 adapted to be fitted onto the tapered section 21a of the steering shaft 21. Further, there is provided a synthetic cover body 20 formed therein with a serrated hole 28 adapted to be fitted onto the serrated section 21b of the steering shaft 21, below the boss 16. With this arrangement it is possible to make the diameter of the serrated hole 28 larger so that an excellent durability and micro-adjusting ability may be obtained. Further, the height of the serrated hole 28 may be made to be less, and therefore, the upward projected part of the steering shaft may be shortened to enhance the safety of the steering wheel.
