PURPOSE:To improve the cleaning effect of a belt and the tooth of a comb by providing a brush so as to be brought into contact with the belt below the bar screen of the title garbage treating machine, and moving the brush up and down when the tooth of a comb passes by. CONSTITUTION:When garbage is charged into the garbage treating machine body, the garbage is accumulated on the bar screen, and water is discharged from the clearance of the bar screen. The belt 17 is driven, and the garbage is transported by the tooth of a comb 16 and discharged. After discharge is finished, the inside of the garbage treating machine body, the belt 17, and the tooth 16 are washed with water from a washing nozzle. Besides, the brush 25 is provided so as to be brought into contact with the lower side of the belt 17. When the belt 17 is rotated and the tooth 16 comes before the brush 25, an arm 23 is gradually brought down by the tooth 16, the brush 25 is moved along the front of the tooth 16, the tooth 16 is cleaned, and the brush is returned to the original position by a spring 24 when the tooth 16 passes on.
