PURPOSE:To prevent malodor from being generated at the time of combustion shutdown and to precisely seal the upper opening of the burner by mounting the drive portion of a catalyst mounting portion on a burner frame body and sealing the upper opening of the burner together with the combustion shutdown operation by means of a catalyst mounting plate. CONSTITUTION:When a combustion shutdown operating shaft 4 during the combustion of a burner 1 is rotated in a combustion shutdown direction, the burner 1 goes out, and a pushup cam 5 rotates a pushup lever 6 in the descending direction of a slide rod 9, and a catalyst mounting plate 3 mounted on the slide rod 9 seals the upper opening 2 of the burner 1. For this reason, an incomplete combustion gas remaining within the burner 1 is discharged outside via a catalyst and hence the burner 1 is cleaned, and malodor generated at burner shutdown time can be prevented. Further, the slide rod 9 is constituted of a slide plate 10 mounted slidably on a burner frame body 8 via a guide 18 and an interlocking rod 11 axially supported thereon. For this reason, when the end of the interlocking rod 11 by a pushup lever 6, even if the connecting portion between the interlocking rod 11 and the pushup lever 6 is shifted in an arcuate manner, the slide plate 10 can be shifted in a straight line.
