<p>A framework for use beneath the hood of a surgical gown comprises a pliable member (30) which is curved to fit across the forehead and has at each end a downwardly directed side piece (31) leading to an inwardly extending portion (32). The latter fits closely against the face of a wearer outwardly and just below the eyes with a gap remaining between the ends of the portions (32) for the bridge of the nose. A further pliable curved element (34) extends upwards from the centre of the member (30) for seating over the scalp. Fastening means (39) on the curved member (30) secure the material of the hood above a frontal eye aperture therein so as to stabilise the position of that aperture over the face of the wearer. A further structure (36,37) may be provided to hold material of the hood and/or a conventional surgical mask away from the nose and mouth of the wearer. <IMAGE></p> |
