PURPOSE:To improve response speed, make manufacture of a sensor easy, reduce sensing errors and improve reliability by a method wherein a sensor is constituted by an upper electrode, a lower electrode, a photoelectric conversion layer and an insulating layer and a spotlight is applied to windows successively. CONSTITUTION:An optoelectric transducer is composed of a sandwich structure wherein a photoelectric conversion layer 22 is held between a light transmitting upper electrode 24 and a light screening lower electrode 21. A sensor S' is constituted by the optoelectric transducer and an insulating layer 23 which has windows W1 at predetermined positions and is provided between the upper electrode 24 or the lower electrode 21 and the photoelectric conversion layer 22 of the optoelectric transducer. An object 26 to be sensed is provided above the upper electrode 24 side of the sensor S' and a spotlight L is successively applied to the windows W1 through the object 26 from the backside of the object 26 and the light L transmitted through the object 26 is detected by the sensor S' and the image can be sensed by taking out a detection signal synchronizing with the position of the spotlight L application. With this constitution, an image reader which is simple in structure and easy to manufacture and has a high optical response speed can be obtained. |
