PURPOSE:To minimize a photosensitive body and to miniaturize an overall device by installing one common developing roller which is formed movably between respective developing units at a fixed interval between the pump-up rollers of plural developing units and between the photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:The titled device has a paddle 19 which is disposed in a tank case 18 and stires and pumps up a developer, the pump-up roller 20 to pump up the developer, a scraper plate 21 to scrape away the developer on the pump-up roller 20, and a doctor 22 to regulate the layer thickness of the developer on the pump-up roller 20. Respective developing units are arranged so that the pump-up roller 20 an be positioned the prescribed distance from the developing roller 7 to change its position. By the moving of one developing roller, the color of the multicolor development can be changed. As a result, plural developing rollers corresponding to plural developing units are unnecessary. Compared with a case where plural developing rollers are arranged, the moving range of the developing roller can be reduced.
