PURPOSE:To control lest the heat received to the tip of graphite forming a central layer of a hot shell should escape to the rear members where the hot shell is connected by enlarging the wall thickness of the tip of the graphite. CONSTITUTION:A hot shell, the outer shell of a thermoelement, is of triple- layered structure, the core of which is graphite 3 formed by machining. On the outside of this graphite 3 silicon carbide 2 is chemically evaporated. On the inside of the graphite 3 tungsten is chemically evaporated which functions as an emitter 4. At the tip i.e. ahead of a fire-proofing wall 31 the graphite 3 is thicker for the emitter 4 situated on the inside of the hot shell 1. A collector terminal 33 is electrically connected to a collector 6. By connecting a lead wire to both terminals 32 and 33, the generated power can be delivered.
