<p>The dispersion, for use in making paints with a brilliant finish, is made by emulsifying 30-70 parts alkyd resin contg. 1/5-2.75% alkylene oxide radicals, with acid value 5-20 mg. KOH/g. and hydroxyl value 5-125 mg. Koh/g., in 70-30 parts water, in presence of 0.25-5 wt.% non-ionic emulsifying agent based on the dispersion, 0-10 wt.% 2-6C alcohol and 0.05-5 wt.% water-soluble volatile base. The pH of the dispersion is maintained at 5-9.</p> |
