<p>864,723. Mixing liquids and gases. NEDERLANDSE ORGANISATIE VOOR TOEGEPAST - NATUURWETENSCHAPPELIJK ONDERZOEK TEN BEHOEVE VAN DE VOLKSGEZONDHEID. Aug. 14, 1959 [Aug. 16, 1958], No. 27895/59. Class 86 A rotor having beater arms for introducing gases into liquids, e.g., for beating air into water, sewage or waste liquid, consists of a rotary shaft to which are attached beater arms in the form of rows of comb-like teeth formed by slitting a 'flat metal plate and bending the parts 3, 3<SP>1</SP> between the slits. In Fig. 5, each flat plate produces four rows of comb-like teeth, 3, 3<SP>1</SP>, the middle part of the plate being bent at 8, 8<SP>1</SP> to form a channel like girder for attachment to the shaft 5 by screws 6. Alternate strips 3, 3<SP>1</SP> are bent at 10, 10<SP>1</SP> symmetrically relative to a plane radial to the shaft 5. Alternate strips 3, 3<SP>1</SP> may be left unbent, that is allowed to remain in the radial plane, the other strips being displaced from the plane as before. The strips 3, 3<SP>1</SP> are made of such length that the tips are all in the same surface of revolution during use. The flat metal plate may have one set of slits only, the strips being bent to form two sets of comb-like teeth, one set being, if desired, in the radial plane. The girderpart of the beater member is, in this case of L-section, the angle between the limbs of the L being obtuse. Instead of slitting the plate, triangular or rectangular gaps may be cut therein.</p> |
