The sliding lid (1) of the cash-box (12) is provided with horizontal teeth (4) on its longitudinal sides (2, 3). The double-walled longitudinal walls (5, 6) of the cash-box each have six vertically displaceable blocking slides (7) in their interspace. The faces of the blocking slides (7) directed towards the inside of the cash-box are each provided with two grooves on their two end regions. A boss is located between each two grooves. These two bosses are of differing width. The blocking slides (7) project either a few millimetres out of the sliding lid (1) or, through appropriate clearances, out of the cash-box bottom. Depending on its sliding position, each blocking slide (7) releases or blocks the toothed sliding lid (1). Countless lock combinations can be set. Securities, such as cash, jewellery or papers, can be stored in the cash-box. <IMAGE>
