The flat measuring string (10) presented here has in the plane of the string in the region of the nodal points integrally formed lugs (18, 18') which are connected to nodal masses (20, 21; 22) which are symmetrical relative to this plane and touch the said lugs on both sides. This measuring string has good metrological properties and can be produced very economically. Application, in particular, to devices for measuring force or displacement. <IMAGE>
