In a safety ski binding, the control surface for the safety release is designed on a front sole projection (50) of the ski boot (30). A spring-loaded locking pin (70d) of the front jaw (70) bears on the control surface (50b) and the bearing surface (50a). In the heel region, the ski boot (30) likewise has a sole projection (40) which engages into a recess (60f) of the heel support (60) and is held in the skiing position by the locking pin (70d). As a result of the design of the two sole projections (40, 50) no further release spring is necessary for the safety release in the heel support (60).
