PURPOSE:To obtain the titled novel resin useful as coating compounds, etc., having improved heat resistance and mechanical strength safely and readily, by reacting an epoxy resin-phenol addition product with a diisocyanate and reacting the resultant compound with an unsaturated hydroxyl compound. CONSTITUTION:(A) (i) An epoxy resin-phenol addition product containing two or more hydroxyl groups and two or more allyloxymethylene groups obtained by adding monohydric phenols to the epoxy groups of an epoxy resin containing two or more epoxy group and (ii) a diisocyanate are subjected to addition reaction in the presence of (iii) both a radically polymerizable monomer and a polymerization inhibitor in such a way that the amount of the isocyanate group of the component ii is substantially 2 equivalents based on 1 equivalent hydroxyl group of the component i to give an isocyanate addition resin and the component A is reacted with (B) an unsaturated hydroxyl compound containing one or more unsaturated group and one or more hydroxyl groups in one molecule or a resin to give the aimed compound shown by the formula.
