PURPOSE:To ensure high sensitivity, favorable adhesion of a film and make it possible to clearly print both a smooth paper and a rough paper, by incorporating a thermoplastic organic polymer having a minimum film-forming temperature in a specified range into one of layers having different compositions. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic organic polymer having a minimum film-forming temperature of -50-40 deg.C is incorporated in at least one of at least two layers having different composition, in a thermal transfer recording medium which comprises the at least two layers on a base. Of two layers adjacent to each other and having different compositions, one comprises a heat-fusible substance as a main constituent, while the other comprises the thermoplastic organic polymer as a main constituent, and the thermoplastic layer is provided on the heat-fusible layer. Namely, the heat-fusible layer 2 and the thermoplastic layer 3 are provided on the base 1. An anti-sticking layer is provided on the other side of the base. Although it is preferable to incorporate a coloring agent in the thermoplastic layer, a small amount of the coloring agent may be added also to the heat-fusible layer. |
