PURPOSE:To facilitate extraction of a desired flexion point in a linear conversion mode of vector characters and at the same time to reduce the memory capacity of an attribute list, by storing the data on each flexion point for each segment forming a character stroke. CONSTITUTION:An attribute list memory 1 for each character pattern stores the flexion points for each pair of horizontal and vertical vectors formed every segment of a character stroke. That is, the attribute list is produced based on the line numbers not by flexion points. Then the addresses of those flexion points are inputted to the memory 1 for extraction of the desired flexion point data. Thus the memory 1 stores the vector flexion points for each horizontal/ vertical segment forming the character strokes of a relevant character pattern. Therefore it is not needed to search a desired flexion point of the relevant segment out of all flexion points shown in the attribute list. Thus the desired flexion point can be immediately extracted just by supplying the flexion point address to the memory 1.
