USE:Forming a polymer and copolymer, useful as one component for polymer for oxygen permeable membrane, photoresist or electron resist or an improver for composite materials, etc. PREPARATION:(A) A vinyltoluene (e.g. lithiovinyltoluene, etc.) whose methyl group is converted to lithio is reacted with (B) a chlorosilane compound (e.g. chlorotrimethylsilane, etc.) optionally in an inert solvent such as diethyl ether, THF, etc., preferably at -30-50 deg.C for 30min-100hr.
