PURPOSE:To obtain the Japanese language printer efficient in visual sensing expression for printing results, by providing plural kinds of character generators of different face and the switch selecting the character generator corresponding to a required face. CONSTITUTION:A microprocessor system muPS32 converts the printing data PD applied from an exterior equipment EXT 3 to the address signal for reading dot pattern data from character generators CGA4 and CGB5, stores it in a register R6 and also stores the selection signal corresponding to the stage of a switch SW7 in R6. The printing data are converted to the dot pattern data of a specific face with CGA4 and CGB5 following the stored signal and Japanese character symbols are printed with a dot pattern by driving a printing head, carriage mechanism, recording paper feeding mechanism, etc. of which PM1 consists. Though KANJI (Chinese character) is always printed by the first face to be converted with CGA 4, the printing script of KANA (Japanese character) and symbol is selectively designated to the first face to be converted with CGA4 according to the state of SW7 or the second face to be converted with CGB5. |
