PURPOSE:To improve the adhesion between an electrode edge and a gas separator to surely prevent gas leakage, and to lengthen the life by filling fine particles which are heat resistant and phosphoric acid resistant onto the surfaces on both sides, which are in contact with a gas separator, of a ribbed electrode, then smoothing the surfaces, and heating and press-fitting thermoplastic resin films. CONSTITUTION:Fine particles 8 are filled onto the surface, which is in contact with a gas separator, on the edge of a ribbed electrode 2 made of carbon fibers 6 to form a fine particle filling layer 7. After smoothing the surface, thermoplastic resin films 4 are heated and press-fitted to form a sealing part. Fine particles 8 are filled between carbon fibers 6, and the surface of the thermoplastic resin films press-fitted are kept smooth. The fine particles 8 are heat resistant, phosphoric acid resistant material such as graphite activated carbon, and silicon carbide, and preferable to have a mean particle size of 50mum or less. |
