PURPOSE:To prevent retardation of heat transmission due to sticking of solid CO2 to an inside wall of a cooler and to produce solid CO2, or solid/liquid CO2 with high efficiency by cooling gaseous CO2 in a cooler under a specified inside pressure and having a specified temp. of the inside wall surface. CONSTITUTION:Gaseous CO2 is cooled in a cooler having >=5.2 atm inside pressure and <=-56.6 deg.C temp. on the inside wall surface, to obtain solid CO2 or solid/liquid CO2. In the above described process, conditions permitting coexistence of liquid CO2 and solid CO2 are selected, and the mixture is stirred to rotate and to contact with the inside surface of a jacket cooling vessel. In this stage, the surface of the vessel is always exposed, thus realizing heat exchange of extremely high efficiency between boiling LNG in the jacket and fluid mixture and condensing CO2 in the cooler. |
