PURPOSE:To identify the propriety of a diode body in a short time by identifying the propriety of a semiconductor laser diode element depending upon a laser oscillation threshold currend. CONSTITUTION:A power source 11 is used for a semiconductor laser diode body 10 to energize the laser diode and to heat the light emitting unit of the diode body 10. If the diode body 10 does not have an internal defect, a light emitting pattern P corresponding to the striped pattern of a semiconductor region 6 can be obtained. When the diode body 10 has an internal defect, a dark spot S corresponding to the defect can be obtained in the diode body 10. |
