PURPOSE:To enable uniform and firm metal plating only on the part of a body requiring plating by applying catalytic paste consisting of palladium hydrosol contg. a surfactant and of a water soluble binder to the body and by carrying out chemical plating. CONSTITUTION:Palladium hydrosol cong. one or more kinds of surfactants selected among cationic, anionic and nonionic surfactants is mixed with a water soluble binder, stirred and cooled to prepare catalytic paste for chemical plating. This paste is applied to a body to be plated to stick palladium colloid and then the body is chemically plated with a metal such as Ni, Co, Nu or Ag. By this method, uniform and film chemical plating can be carried out only on the part requiring plating. This method is adoptable in the production of a decorative material, a heat insulating material, a magnetic tape to disk, a printed board or the like. |
