PURPOSE:To produce the titled agent effective in preventing secondary degradation of silage over a long period, by using a specific aliphatic carboxylic acid and a specific microbial strain separated from silage as active components. CONSTITUTION:A 3-6C aliphatic carboxylic acid such as caproic acid is used as an active component of the titled agent in combination with a microbial strain separated from silage (e.g. Italian ryegrass silage) and belonging to lactic acid bacteria in 3 kinds of microbial strains consisting of lactic acid bacteria, propionibacteria and yeast or belonging to at least two groups in the above 3 groups. The amount of the aliphatic carboxylic acid to be added to the charging material of silage is 0.01-0.2% and that of the microorganism is 10<3>-10<7> cells per 1g of the material. |
