PURPOSE:To improve the setting of bristle height, triboelectrification, and the conveyance of a developer by providing a developing an scooping-up sleeve, a guide member which forms a gap on a wall surface formed similarly to the curved surface of the sleeve, and a doctor blade between an upper and a lower guide member. CONSTITUTION:A developer agitated by agitation blades 183 is sent clockwise by the counterclockwise rotation of the developing sleeve 181 to develop an electrostatic latent image on a photosensitive body 15, sleeves 182 and 181 are rotated in the opposite directions to detour the developer, and the agitation time is extended to increase electrostatic charging efficiency; and the developer which is cut by the member 188 is guided to a lower guide member 18B to prevent the peripheral surface of the photosensitive body 1 from being stained. Thus, the bristle height setting and triboelectrification are performed excellently and the conveyance of the developer nearby the doctor member is improved.
