PURPOSE:To reduce the equipment cost and to improve the safety by arranging an optical detector in the main body of a projecting unit and by performing the decision of the prescribed phenomenon based on the level of the output signal thereof. CONSTITUTION:The crest shaped projection part 26 having the outside inclined face 26a around a laser beam incident port 24 is formed inside the main body 12 of a laser beam projecting unit 10, and the optical detector of a phot-diode 28, etc. is arranged. The output terminal of the photo-diode 28 is connected to the judging part 100 of the integrated circuit installed inside a circuit box 30. The judging part 100 is connected to a work control part via an electric cable 34. With this mechanism, the optical detector 28 can detect via a reflecting beam LB0 the projection of a laser beam LB and the irradiation onto the work W to be worked. Consequently, the abnormality of the beam transmission system and laser beam LB can be detected quickly and surely, so the device cost is reduced and the safety is improved as well. |
