PURPOSE:To improve a cooling effect by fitting an elastic member between the outer circumferential section of a side plate oppositely faced to a cooling fan mounted onto the side surface of a field pole and the inner circumferential surface of a rear bracket and preventing the creeping of cooling air discharged. CONSTITUTION:A side plate 1 is installed faced oppositely to a cooling fan 9 on the rear side set up onto the side surface of a field pole 4. An elastic member 20 is fitted into a clearance between the outer circumferential section of the side plate 1 and the inner circumferential surface of a rear bracket 2, and one part of cooling air creeps as shown in the arrow of a dotted line, and an outflow to the cooling air side sucked is prevented. Accordingly, the quantity of cooling air is increased and a cooling effect is improved, and the temperature rise of a rectifier 15 is lowered, thus elevating the allowable temperature of a generator.
