PURPOSE:To simplify an individual collating method and inhibiting absolutely the foul use of an IC card by making use of the fingerprint for confirmation of identity of the card owner. CONSTITUTION:The fingerprint information is registered to an IC card for confirmation of an individual and then read by an ordinary IC card reader 2 after the card is put into the reader 2. Then the read fingerprint information is inputted to a collating device 5. A fingerprint reader 3 can scan and read directly, e.g., optically a fingerprint 4a of a finger tip 4 of an operator. Thus the form image of the fingerprint 4a is inputted to the device 5 when the finger tip 4 is pressed directly to the reader 3. Then the device 5 compares the fingerprint information registered on the card and outputted from the reader 2 with the form image of the fingerprint 4a and outputs a collation confirming signal 5a. |
