PURPOSE:To provide a vulcanization accelerator which does not cause the deterioration of polyester fibers conventionally used as reinforcing agents for rubber, has a rate of cure similar to that of conventional agents and gives vulcanized rubber having a degree of vulcanization density similar to that of conventional ones, containing a metal salt of a specified N-substd. piperazyldithiocarbamic acid as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:This vulcanization accelerator comprises a metal salt of an N-substd. piperizyldithiocarbamic acid having the formula (wherein R is a 1-12C alkyl, a 3-8C cycloalkyl, a 6-12C aryl or a 7-13C aralkyl group; and n is a number equal to the valency of metal and an integer of 1-4) as an active ingredient. Examples of metal for the metal salt are Zn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, etc.
