PURPOSE:To prevent image disturbance by setting the transfer material carrying direction of a carrying means between the normal direction of the axial line of a pressure roll and that of a contacting line formed with a fixing roll and the pressure roll and forming the surface of the pressure roll with an elastic material layer. CONSTITUTION:A resist roll 4, a photosensitive drum 1, the fixing roll 7 of a fixing device, and a pressure roll 8 are so arranged that the carrying direction of an arrow H of the resist roll 4 is between the normal direction of the arrow K of the axial line of a pressure roll 8 and that of an arrow N of a contacting line (n). The surface of the pressure roll 8 is formed with the elastic material layer, and the force of friction to a transfer material 3 is increased to increase the carrying force. ?Then, the carrying direction of an arrow H' of a pair of rolls 7 and 8 approaches the normal direction of the pressure roll 8, and the linearity is good even in the area where the angle alpha of inclination of the pressure roll 8 is small. Thus, the linearity and the prevention of rush shock are improved.
