PURPOSE:To confirm the number registered at present by providing a storage means for storing an abbreviated dial registration state and means for reading the registration state with respect to an inquiry, for converting it into a voice signal and for sending it to allow a person having permission for abbreviated dial service to dial a special number. CONSTITUTION:A memory 3 is provided to a central processing unit 5 and the abbreviated dial registration state is stored in the memory 3. If the abbreviated dial registration state is forgotten, a subscriber dials a special number from a telephone set 1. The number is fed to the central processing unit 5 via an exchange system 1. The central processing unit 5 recognizes the special number, the abbreviated dial registration state of the telephone set 1 is read from the memory 3 and fed to a voice converter 5. The supplied abbreviated dial registration state is converted into a voice signal by a voice converter 4 and sent to the telephone set 1 via the exchange system 1. As a result, hthe registration state of the abbreviated dial is announced from the telephone set 1.
