PURPOSE:To reduce the energy by controlling the temperature of a fixing heater only when an image is formed and turning off the power to the fixing heater when a device is held. CONSTITUTION:Fixing heaters 21 and 21 are turned on through a control circuit 30 and a heater driver 31 when a copy switch 17 is depressed, and a normal copy sequence is executed when the surface temperatures of fixing rolls 20 and 20 reach a prescribed value thereafter. Temperatures of fixing heaters 21 and 21 are controlled only when the copying operation is performed, and power supply to fixing heaters 21 and 21 is turned off when the device is held after the copying operation. Thus, the personal copying is contrived with the conserved energy.
