PURPOSE:The microbicidal material which contains a medium for generating ethanol gas, thus being suitable for sterilization of hackle (downs of birds and young animals) for flies used in fishing for bull trout, trout or the like and for storage of the flies with easy handleability and no toxicity. CONSTITUTION:A micribicidal material that is prepared by filling a gas- permeable pouch with an ethanol-adsorbend carrier and, when necessary, a deoxidation agent such as iron dust is placed together with hackle for fishing flies in a gas-impermeable pouch or vessel and tightly sealed for storing of the flies. EFFECT:Vermiculation and mildewing can be avoided without dirty spots or naphthalene crystals deposition in the case of using naphthalene.
