PURPOSE:To simply form neck-in parts with different diameters on both ends of upper and lower parts of the can drum, at the time of manufacturing the can vessel possessed of the neck-in part of the upper end with the larger diameter than that of the neck-in part of the lower end, by contracting the lower end part of the can drum, then bulging the center section of the can drum. CONSTITUTION:A core 2 with an equal diameter of the contracting diameter is inserted into a lower opening 1a of the can drum 1 formed by rounding a sheet to connect its free ends together, an annular die 4 is disposed on the outer periphery of the opening 1a to move in the direction of the arrow along the core 2, to perform a drawing work for the lower end opening part 1a of the cam drum. Then, the die 6 equipped with a hollow part 6a adjusted with the bulging shape of the can drum is disposed outside the center section of the can drum, and a projecting part 7b bulged by the punch 7 pressing the inner surface of the can drum 1 and adjusted with the hollow part 6a of the die 6 is formed. In this bulging work on the lower part of drum 1 is formed the neck-in A drawn one step comparing to the central part 5 of drum 1, while on the upper part of drum 1 is formed the neck neck-in B with a larger diameter than A.
