PURPOSE:To attain the convenience of use by providing a setting means for setting optionally the number of times of a call signal required for automatic answer. CONSTITUTION:A detection means 103 detects a signal and inputs it to a count means 104. The count means 104 counts the number of times of transmission of a call signal and when the count reaches a count set by a setting means 105 in advance, a connection means 106 is operated to connect a telephone line 102 to an answering equipment 101. The set count of the setting means 104 is set optionally by the setting means 105. A counter counting call signals sent from a signal conversion section 5 is built in a microcomputer 1, and the countable number being the number of times of call signals is set by a signal adjusted by a variable resistor 10 and inputted to the microcomputer 1 via an A/D converter 11.
