<p>Bitumen - polyolefin compositions, e.g. for use as binders in paving composition, comprise a continuous bitumen phase and a dispersed polyolefin phase and are stabilized by an emulsifier system comprising a polyolefin wax with terminal functional groups and a polymeric main chain structure which is compatible with the dispersed polyolefin phase. In a preferred embodiment, the emulsifier system also includes a metal oxide compound which will chemically react with the terminal functional groups of the polyolefin wax.</p> |
