Machine carried on an agricultural tractor in a laterally offset position, for mechanically digging drains with the slope desired, perpendicularly or obliquely with respect to the axis of the road depending on whether the latter is flat, ascending or descending. The machine consists of an approximately horizontal beam in two parts 1a, 1b which are articulated to each other by means of a vertical-axis clevis 2, the part 1b carrying, at its end, a horizontal-axis clevis 5 supporting, in a casing 9, a cylindrical mill 6 provided with hoe-shaped cutters 6c, this mill rotating anticlockwise for an observer placed on the right of the tractor. The rear lateral walls of the casing converge towards an opening for discharging the cut material by means of an expulsion turbine. The inclined, perpendicular or oblique positioning of the tool is controlled by a jack. <IMAGE>
