The heating element, the firing mechanism and the gas container of a hair dryer are formed by a usual pocket gas lighter (17), preferably provided with a battery or piezoquartz firing or another implementation of a disposable lighter having a firing flint (40). The use of a replaceable gas container with a firing device attached to the hair dryer housing is also part of the invention. Firing occurs when the lighter (17, resp. 40) is introduced in the cavity (21, resp. 21a) of the hair dryer housing (1), immediately preceded by the switching on of the fan (2) through contact with the blades (18, resp. 18a). The current for the fan is supplied by disposable batteries or by rechargeable accumulators. The hair dryer is switched off simply by lifting the pressure of the thumb, and this gives the additional safety that the apparatus will not be unintentionally left in operation. The lighter (17, resp. 40) can be withdrawn at will from the hair dryer housing (1) and be normally used as such. Being completely independent from the mains, this hair dryer is absolutely safe in wet rooms and can be used everywhere. Its low weight and small dimensions make it particularly appropriate for travel. The apparatus can be easily and economically produced. |
