PURPOSE:To bring a molten metal into tight contact with all parts of a cavity so as to improve heat conduction to dies and to accelerate solidification by introducing the molten metal under a low pressure into an injection sleeve and injecting the molten metal under a high pressure into the dies by a pressurizing mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A hydraulic cylinder 4 of a pouring pump 7 is driven to lower a pouring plunger 3 and to exert a low pressure of <=1kg/cm<2> to the molten metal in the cylinder 2, thereby introducing the molten metal from a pouring port 40 into the injection sleeve 29. The hydraulic cylinder 31 of the pressurizing mechanism 35 is driven to move an injection plunger 30 under a low pressure of <=1kg/cm<2> toward the left. A high pressure of 200-500kg/cm<2> is exerted into the molten metal in the injection cylinder 29 through the hydraulic cylinder 31 at the point of the time when the injection cylinder 30 passes the position of the pouring port 40 and the pouring port 40 is closed by the injection plunger 30. The molten metal is thus injected into the cavity 28 and a casting is formed.
