PURPOSE:To obtain a circuit having an attenuation characteristic designed theoretically by acting the 2nd resistor as a stub and cancelling the reactance component caused by the stub formed at a transmission line part connected to the resistor. CONSTITUTION:When the 2nd resistor 7 forms a capacitive reactance equivalently at the operating frequency band, the dimansions are set so that the stub 9 forms an inductive reactance nearly equal to the capacitive reactance and conversely with the 2nd resistor 7 forms the inductive reactance, the dimensions are selected so that the stub forms the capacitive reactance. It is detected how many reactance is formed from the 2nd resistor 7 at the operating frequency band by measuring various parameters of the attenuator circuit, various dimensions of the stub 9 to cancel the reactance are almost obtained by the microwave design technology, and the optimum dimensions are selected by applying trimming after the stub is formed.
