PURPOSE:To make it possible to improve the discharge characteristics of a cell at a high current discharge by forming the positive electrode with a positive electrode material composed mainly of acetylene black added with activated carbon. CONSTITUTION:To 100pts.wt. of a mixture composed of e.g. 75wt% (hereafter the mixing rate indicates a typical example) of acetylene black, 5wt% of graphite and 20wt% of activated carbon 20pts.wt. of water dispersed polytetrafluoroethylene, 120pts.wt. of methyl alcohol and 300pts.wt. of water are added, mixed and kneaded, and pressure formed to a cylindrical formation. This formation is cut in a required length and dried to obtain the porous positive electrode 4. After inserting this positive electrode 4 in a cell case 1 provided with the negative electrode 2 and the separator 3 required processes such as terminal setting, welding and injection of the electrolyte are performed. Thereby the discharge characteristics at a high current discharge can be improved. |
