PURPOSE:To easily obtain a superconducting electromagnet having improved economic effects, by supplying a plurality of lines of coil wire simultaneously and winding them on a spool while superposing them in parallel in the thickness of the coil. CONSTITUTION:A supply device 10 supplies a plurality of lines of coil wire 11 simultaneously. These lines of wire 11 are wound sequentially around a core spacer 13 disposed on a spool 12 while the lines are superposed in parallel in the thickness of a coil. The wire 11 preferably is monolithic wire having a sectional area of about one-third - one-tenth of that of conventional wire. Alternatively, conventional wire stock may be used without reducing the diameter thereof by simply dividing it into subwires having a sectional area of about one-third - one-tenth and twisting them. In this manner, wire having a small sectional area with which less energizing current is required can be used for the coil without requiring a longer period of time for winding it. As a result, various problems involved by reducing the size of twisted wire, for example increase in cost for drawing the wire or difficulty of twisting the wire can be avoided. In case of using the monolithic wire, the electromagnet can be compactized.
|
