To produce insertion strips for boxes for receiving tablets or the like, in which the tablets are supplied in each case received individually in the recesses (2) of prefabricated blister strips and the number of tablets or the like contained in each blister strip does not correspond to the desired number for an insertion strip, provision is made for the blister strips to be cut up into individual blister strip sections (1') with the desired number of tablets in such a way that none of the recesses (2) containing a tablet are affected by the incision, for a rigid, thin backing strip to be provided with at least one cutout (7) for one insertion strip (6) in each case, the shaping of which cutout corresponds essentially to the shape of the region of a blister strip section (1') containing the recesses (2) with the tablets, and for a blister strip section (1') with its regions containing the recesses (2) then to be passed through each cutout (7) and connected to the backing strip (5) in its edge region which projects beyond the boundary of the cutout (7). Furthermore, an insertion strip which can be produced according to this method is described. <IMAGE>
