SENSOR FOR TRAVELING POSITION OF MAGNETIC TAPE

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve the resolving power for the position detection of a magnetic tape by detecting the monotonously changing the output distribution light passing the outside surface of the tape from the transverse end face thereof. CONSTITUTION:Light from a light emitting diode 11 of a light source 10 is made into the light having the output distribution by an aperture 13a of a slit 13 and said light irradiates the magnetic tape 14. The light passing the outside of the magnetic tape 14 from the transverse end thereof is received by a light receiving device 15 and the transverse position of the tape 14 is detected. The detection output is amplified by the constitution in which the light having such output distribution is used. The resolving power for the position detection of the tape is thus improved.
